About the role
Tidal Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with strong experience in ETF systems, cloud-based architectures, and a deep understanding of AI/ML technologies. You will work at the intersection of financial data, AI automation, and ETF operations, building intelligent applications that ingest, clean, transform, and analyze data from banks, custodians, fund administrators, and trading platforms.
The ideal candidate brings a deep familiarity with the ETF landscape, is fluent in Python, and can leverage both AI models and cloud-native architecture (AWS/Azure) to build systems that drive automation, predictive analytics, and operational efficiency across our platform.
What you'll do
- Design and develop intelligent applications that streamline ETF operations through AI-driven data validation, reconciliation, and anomaly detection.
- Integrate data feeds from custodians (e.g., USB, JPM, CITI, BBH), fund administrators, pricing/index vendors, and internal tools using scalable APIs.
- Build and maintain Snowflake-based pipelines that centralize financial data, with support for real-time queries, historical reporting, and predictive analytics.
- Implement AI models for tasks such as trade pattern recognition, compliance alerting, dividend forecast modeling, and NAV validation.
- Automate complex workflows like proforma rebalancing, basket creation, trade matching, and portfolio monitoring using AI/ML-enhanced rule engines.
- Contribute to the development of internal AI agents or copilots that assist with compliance audits, documentation generation, and data QC.
- Deploy, monitor, and secure applications using AWS, following best practices for DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Ensure system security, code quality, and robust documentation are maintained across all projects.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a focus on data-intensive or financial applications.
- Strong understanding of ETF mechanics, including order lifecycle, NAV/trade reconciliation, and compliance constraints.
- Proficient in Python and data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy, PySpark).
- Experience integrating APIs from custodians, banks, or market data vendors.
- Demonstrated experience with AI/ML technologies, such as:
- Building or fine-tuning models using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
- Applying LLMs or agent frameworks (LangChain, OpenAI, etc.) to automate internal workflows.
- Working with MLOps platforms or tools like Vertex AI, SageMaker, or Azure ML.
- Deep experience in Snowflake, SQL optimization, and data modeling for finance use cases.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, containerization (Docker), and IaC tools (Terraform/CDK).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GitHub, OAuth2, and secure system design.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Knowledge of Bloomberg AIM, FIX protocols, or financial messaging APIs.
- Exposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, EventBridge, Step Functions).
- Experience deploying AI applications in production (monitoring, evaluation, feedback loops).
- Understanding of compliance workflows and SOC2/NIST frameworks.
Soft Skills:
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business processes into scalable technical solutions.
- Flexibility to work with the changing demands of the business team.
- Clear communication and documentation skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative, resourceful, and proactive in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
