Terawave is seeking engineers who are passionate about developing and testing wireless systems at the edge of what’s possible. The ideal candidate is creative, hands-on, and eager to design, experiment, and iterate rapidly on novel communications architectures. Our work blends theory-driven design with practical, lab-based experimentation to produce high-performance wireless solutions that extend beyond the limits of conventional signaling.
Our environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with a focus on innovative ideas backed by rigorous validation. Our technologies are designed to be both technically groundbreaking and operationally relevant.
Our employees are typically MS/PhD holders in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields, though exceptional BS candidates with demonstrated expertise will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and test novel wireless communication systems across a range of coding schemes, modulation formats, and architectures.
- Conduct hands-on experimentation and rapid prototyping with SDRs, RF hardware, and custom signal processing.
- Develop and refine algorithms in C++ and Python, targeting real-time wireless implementations.
- Perform system verification and validation through simulations, lab testing, and field experiments.
- Collaborate with researchers on iterative design cycles, translating theoretical concepts into practical hardware and software prototypes.
- Develop automated test workflows to ensure reproducibility and quality.
- Document architectures, test results, and insights for internal teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computational Mathematics or related field (exceptional BS candidates will be considered).
- 5+ years of professional experience in RF/wireless communications and systems development.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
- Proficiency in Linux development environments.
- Experience with Git and collaborative version control workflows.
- Hands-on experience with software-defined radios (SDRs).
- Experience with RF lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
- Practical experience in wireless systems and transceiver design, including modulation techniques, pulse shaping, clock recovery, channel equalization, and coding.
Preferred Skills & Experience (Relevant but Not Required)
- Proficiency in MATLAB or similar tools for modeling and prototyping.
- Background in lab experimentation, test automation, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with FPGA-based implementations for wireless or DSP applications.
