Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our construction accounting team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience processing multi-state payroll, certified payroll, and Davis-Bacon compliance within the construction industry. Proficiency with Vista by Viewpoint software is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for field and office employees in accordance with company policies and labor regulations
- Prepare and submit Certified Payroll Reports and ensure compliance with Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wage requirements
- Maintain accurate employee records, deductions, and benefits information
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and prepare reports for management
- Review and verify timesheets, job codes, and cost allocations for accuracy
- Collaborate with HR and project management teams to resolve payroll discrepancies
- Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll laws and construction wage requirements
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of Certified Payroll and Davis-Bacon compliance
- Experience with Vista by Viewpoint or similar construction accounting software
- Solid understanding of job costing and multi-state payroll
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
