Remote Commercial Strategy Analyst
Department: Revenue Management / Sales & Marketing
Reports To: VP of Operations
Location: Remote (Florida-based preferred)
Position Summary
The Commercial Strategy Analyst plays a key role in supporting revenue performance across a portfolio of 15 Florida hotels. This position focuses on the hands-on execution of revenue management strategies—analyzing data, adjusting rates, managing inventory, and optimizing distribution channels to maximize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR.
Working closely with property teams and the corporate office, this role helps ensure that each hotel remains competitive and aligned with the company’s commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue Management & Forecasting
- Track and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly performance for all hotels (occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, pickup, etc.).
- Prepare and update forecasts for room revenue, demand, and occupancy.
- Identify booking trends, market demand shifts, and pricing opportunities.
- Recommend rate changes and restrictions based on performance and market conditions.
- Monitor comp sets and OTA pricing to ensure competitive positioning.
2. Inventory & Channel Management
- Maintain accurate room inventory across all systems (brand site, OTAs, GDS, direct).
- Manage rate loading, restrictions, and promotions in PMS, CRS, and RMS.
- Troubleshoot rate or availability issues with property and channel partners.
- Support strategies to reduce OTA dependency and increase direct bookings.
- Evaluate the performance and cost of each channel to optimize mix and profitability.
3. Reporting & Analysis
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly revenue and performance reports for each hotel.
- Conduct variance analysis vs. forecast, budget, and prior year.
- Share insights and actionable recommendations with property and corporate leadership.
- Maintain data accuracy and system integrity across all reports and tools.
4. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with General Managers and Sales teams to align pricing and promotions.
- Support group and corporate rate proposals with data and market analysis.
- Participate in weekly revenue and strategy meetings for assigned hotels.
- Partner with Marketing on tactical promotions to fill need periods.
5. Systems & Tools
- Update and monitor pricing and inventory in PMS, CRS, and RMS.
- Ensure data accuracy across all platforms and distribution systems.
- Leverage tools like STR, Lighthouse, and Revinate for competitive analysis and performance tracking.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in hotel revenue management, reservations, or data analysis.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, charts).
- Familiarity with PMS, CRS, RMS, and channel management systems (Cloudbeds, IDeaS, STR, Lighthouse, etc.).
- Working knowledge of OTA extranets and distribution systems.
