We’re looking for a seasoned Structural Engineer who thrives in complex, highly regulated environments and enjoys solving challenging engineering problems. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major nuclear and DOE-related projects where precision, safety, and technical excellence are paramount. You’ll be responsible for advanced structural analysis, seismic evaluations, and the development of engineering solutions for both steel and concrete structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced structural analysis and design for concrete and steel systems used in nuclear and DOE facility environments.
- Conduct seismic evaluations, structural modeling, and load-path verification for critical structures and components.
- Utilize ANSYS and related analysis tools to complete nonlinear, dynamic, and high-complexity simulations.
- Prepare calculation packages, design documentation, and technical reports to support regulatory and safety requirements.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure compliance with nuclear codes, standards, and project specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; MS and PE license strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of professional experience in structural engineering, ideally within nuclear, DOE, or similarly regulated industries.
- Proficiency with ANSYS for structural and seismic modeling.
- Strong knowledge of steel and concrete design principles and relevant industry codes.
- Previous experience performing seismic studies and dynamic structural evaluations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, defensible engineering documentation.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
