Position: Digital Accessibility Analyst
Employment Type: Independent Contractor (with potential to hire)
Hours / Duration: Between 20 and 40 hours per week, for 3 months with an immediate start. There may be opportunity to extend beyond the contract period and / or transition to an employee in 2026.
Compensation: $80.00 per hour
Location: Remote or hybrid (Berkeley, CA), with availability for remote meetings during California standard business hours
Position Summary:
The Center for Accessible Technology is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Digital Accessibility Analyst to champion inclusive digital experiences across our organization. In this role, you will lead efforts to ensure digital platforms, tools, and content meet accessibility standards and best practices. Your expertise will help create equitable online environments that serve all users, including those with disabilities. This role is for an experienced Digital Accessibility Analyst to provide expert feedback for C4AT clients on the accessibility of websites, apps, and other technology for people with disabilities. Specifically, feedback will focus on providing information on compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and the impact on user experience. The Accessibility Analyst will consider a wide range of access challenges, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
The Analyst is tasked with:
· Providing expert accessibility feedback on websites, apps, and other technology as needed for current and new C4AT clients. Feedback will optimally include recommendations for solutions.
· Using manual testing and standard accessibility tools to review digital accessibility.
· Working closely with the C4AT team director to provide reports via Excel, Word, AirTable, and/or client systems.
· Upon request, attending meetings as part of the normal course of work during business hours. This will generally be in the neighborhood of 2-4 a month. All meetings are remote and may include:
- Feedback to the client or C4AT on review findings.
- Live feedback on questions from developers, designers, and C4AT on issues in the design and code.
This position is for an independent contractor, with 20 – 40 hours weekly over the next three months. The position has a potential to evolve into a employee position in 2026. Currently, contractor is responsible for all tax filings and is not eligible for employee benefits. All work may be done remotely with some availability for meetings during normal business hours in California.
Qualifications:
This position requires:
1. IAAP WAS Certification or DHS Trusted Tester Certification required.
2. A deep and comprehensive, demonstrated understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 standards.
3. At least three years of experience and training in similar work.
4. An ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and strong communication and organizational skills.

The Center for Accessible Technology (C4AT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Berkeley, California; our mission centers on expanding access to assistive technology and digital environments, including websites and apps, and essential services. C4AT has three primary programs:
· Our Digital Accessibility Program provides consulting services to public and private entities to enhance the accessibility of websites, apps, software, and products.
· Our Assistive Technology Program provides direct services to expand access to assistive technology.
· Our Policy Program engages in regulatory advocacy to support policies that expand access for people with disabilities.
