Business Analyst (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Center City Philadelphia – Fully Onsite

Contract Pay: $32.00/hr (W2)

Conversion Salary: Up to $65,000

Benefits: Health, dental, and vision available while on contract

About the Role

We are seeking an entry-level Business Analyst I who is eager to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in business analytics and process improvement. This position is ideal for someone with strong foundational skills in SQL and Excel who enjoys problem-solving, digging into data, and supporting cross-functional teams.

You will work closely with senior analysts and business stakeholders to understand workflows, gather requirements, perform data analysis, and support ongoing projects. This is a hands-on, fully onsite role based in Center City where you will be mentored and developed into a full-time BA.

Key Responsibilities

Data & Reporting

Pull, analyze, and validate data using SQL queries (basic to intermediate).
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot Excel-based reports, pivot tables, and dashboards.
Assist with data cleansing, transformation, and quality checks.

Business Analysis

Gather and document business requirements under guidance from senior team members.
Assist in translating business needs into process flows, user stories, and functional documentation.
Perform gap analysis and help identify opportunities for process improvements.

Project Support

Support ongoing initiatives across different business units.
Help track project activities, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
Participate in team meetings, capture notes, and follow up on action items.

Required Skills & Qualifications

1–2+ years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or operations analyst role (recent graduates with strong SQL/Excel skills will be considered).
Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and validation.
Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas).
Detail-oriented, analytical, and curious mindset with the ability to learn quickly.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
Willingness to be onsite in Center City five days per week.
