Business Analyst (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Center City Philadelphia – Fully Onsite
Contract Pay: $32.00/hr (W2)
Conversion Salary: Up to $65,000

About the Role
We are seeking an entry-level Business Analyst I who is eager to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in business analytics and process improvement. This position is ideal for someone with strong foundational skills in SQL and Excel who enjoys problem-solving, digging into data, and supporting cross-functional teams.
You will work closely with senior analysts and business stakeholders to understand workflows, gather requirements, perform data analysis, and support ongoing projects. This is a hands-on, fully onsite role based in Center City where you will be mentored and developed into a full-time BA.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Reporting
- Pull, analyze, and validate data using SQL queries (basic to intermediate).
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot Excel-based reports, pivot tables, and dashboards.
- Assist with data cleansing, transformation, and quality checks.
Business Analysis
- Gather and document business requirements under guidance from senior team members.
- Assist in translating business needs into process flows, user stories, and functional documentation.
- Perform gap analysis and help identify opportunities for process improvements.
Project Support
- Support ongoing initiatives across different business units.
- Help track project activities, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
- Participate in team meetings, capture notes, and follow up on action items.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or operations analyst role (recent graduates with strong SQL/Excel skills will be considered).
- Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and validation.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas).
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and curious mindset with the ability to learn quickly.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
- Willingness to be onsite in Center City five days per week.
Nice-to-Have
- Exposure to data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
- Familiarity with business process mapping or workflow tools.
- Experience working with large datasets or enterprise systems.
