Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clinical settings to evaluate compliance with Joint Commission standards and NCQA guidelines.
- Develop tailored action plans to address gaps in policies, procedures, and clinical practices, ensuring readiness for accreditation surveys.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing staff, physicians, administrative personnel, and quality improvement teams to implement best practices.
- Provide education and training on regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and safety protocols specific to various healthcare environments such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and assisted living communities.
- Assist in preparing documentation, policies, and procedures necessary for successful accreditation surveys; facilitate mock surveys to simulate the process.
- Monitor ongoing compliance through audits, data analysis, and continuous quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and other regulatory frameworks.
- Stay current with evolving healthcare regulations including HIPAA, infection control protocols, ICD coding updates (ICD-10/ICD-9), and other relevant legislation impacting accreditation.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with active clinical experience in diverse settings such as acute care hospitals, critical care units (ICU/PICU), emergency rooms, or long-term care facilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, trauma medicine (Level I & II trauma centers), or specialized fields like cardiology or ophthalmology.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare quality standards including NCQA standards, infection control practices, HIPAA regulations, and medical documentation requirements.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, laboratory procedures, specimen collection/processing, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for training staff and conducting assessments; ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Proven ability to analyze complex clinical data and develop actionable improvement plans.
- Prior experience in hospital or post-acute care settings such as skilled nursing facilities or hospice is highly desirable. Join our team to lead healthcare organizations toward excellence!
