Hours: Full Time - 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional events and meetings outside regular hours
Schedule: Monday – Friday. Additional early morning, evening, and occasional weekend hours as needed to support client service, property needs, and project schedules.
Job Description:
The RAD West Coast Operations Manager is a full-time position responsible for launching, overseeing, and growing Reef Aquaria Design’s West Coast Florida operations (“RAD West”), based primarily in the Naples, FL area. This role combines aquarium service route management, client relationship management, property and facility oversight, and long-term business development.
This hire will serve as the primary on-the-ground leader for RAD West, managing service accounts across the Southwest Florida coast, coordinating with the Fort Lauderdale home base, and acting as the point person for the Naples residential property and the future warehouse/aquaculture facility. The goal of this position is to build a sustainable, profitable, and professionally run West Coast operation that delivers the same level of excellence RAD is known for on the East Coast.
Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· West Coast Service Operations & Client Management
o Manage and perform aquarium service for assigned West Coast client accounts, ensuring RAD-level quality in all visits.
- Plan, organize, and optimize a regular service route schedule across the West Coast region (e.g., Naples, Marco Island, Ft. Myers, Sanibel, Captiva, and surrounding areas).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for West Coast service clients, handling communication, visit summaries, recommendations, and follow-up.
- Coordinate with RAD leadership to price services appropriately, track margins, and identify upsell opportunities (livestock, equipment, upgrades).
- Work with the home base in Fort Lauderdale to front-load new accounts, onboard new clients, and maintain consistency of standards, documentation, and reporting.
- Monitor and manage cash flow drivers for RAD West (route density, travel efficiency, materials usage, livestock and dry goods sales, etc.) with an eye toward profitability and long-term growth.
· Business Development & Expansion
- Identify and pursue new service and project opportunities along the West Coast corridor, focusing on high-value residential, commercial, and hospitality aquariums.
- Assist with and attend paid consultations, proposals, and site visits for prospective West Coast clients.
- Support marketing and sales efforts by providing route intel, photos, local relationship-building, and feedback on pricing and service packages.
- Help cultivate key “showcase” accounts and potential referral partners (e.g., restaurants, public locations) to increase RAD’s visibility and reputation in the region.
· Naples Property Care & On-Site Hospitality
- Act as the primary on-site caretaker for the Naples residential property, maintaining a clean, organized, and guest-ready home environment.
- Oversee routine home tasks, including:
- Monitoring and changing AC filters as scheduled
- Managing garbage/recycling to the street
- Keeping kitchen, bathrooms, floors, and common areas clean and presentable
- Monitoring and reporting any maintenance or repair needs proactively
- Support use of the property as a company guest house for RAD team members and visiting staff, including:
- Coordinating with the RAD West electronic calendar to track occupancy
- Ensuring guest rooms are reset after visits (linens washed and replaced, towels cleaned, spaces restored)
- Maintain and operate the riding lawn mower and related equipment; mow and maintain the 5-acre property on an appropriate seasonal schedule and monitor for invasive plants, overgrowth, and safety concerns.
- Assist in overseeing basic exterior property projects (e.g., simple landscaping tasks, outdoor seating/firepit area setup, general tidiness of yard and outdoor amenities).
· Warehouse & Aquaculture Facility Development
- Assist in planning and coordinating the build-out of the new metal building/warehouse on the Naples property, including:
- Coordination of electrical panel, overhead LED lighting, outlets, and relevant infrastructure
- Layout and basic organization of tools, work benches, storage, and pallet racking
- Coordination for installation of security systems and cameras
- Support the design and phased implementation of a small-scale aquaculture lab within the building, including RO/DI system installation, plumbing, drainage, and basic system setup, in cooperation with the Aquaculture Director and leadership team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly and ready for use by RAD team members.
- Assist with the aquaculture certificate process and related inspections as the facility comes online.
· Vehicle, Tools, and Logistics
- Maintain RAD West vehicles in a clean, professional, and mechanically sound condition, including routine inspections, scheduling service, and basic upkeep.
- Track fuel usage, mileage, and vehicle-related expenses in coordination with the main office for accurate budgeting and cost control.
- Maintain a well-organized tool inventory for RAD West, including power tools, hand tools, safety equipment, and service materials.
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, and storage of livestock, live rock, and dry goods as needed for West Coast services and potential aquaculture operations.
· Coordination with Fort Lauderdale Headquarters
- Travel periodically to the Fort Lauderdale warehouse (initially at least once per week, as needed) for coordination, training, and logistics.
- Participate in regular check-in meetings with leadership (CEO, Operations Manager, Aquaculture Manager, Office Manager) to review service performance, finances, and expansion plans.
- Provide feedback and field insight to marketing, sales, service, and aquaculture teams to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
- Assist with documentation of RAD West operations, including route notes, service forms, photos, inventory logs, and financial tracking data.
· Leadership, Integrity & Growth Mindset
- Act as a self-starter and leader in the region, taking ownership of West Coast performance, profitability, and client satisfaction.
- Uphold and represent RAD’s standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer care at all times.
- Assist in training and onboarding future RAD West hires as the operation grows, eventually helping build a multi-tech service and installation team in the region.
- Demonstrate a willingness to go beyond a traditional 40-hour mindset when necessary to protect aquariums, serve clients, and advance RAD West’s long-term success.
Compensation, Housing, Incentives, & Benefits:
· Base Salary:
o $70,000 / year, Paid bi-weekly via direct deposit every other Friday. Compensation may be reviewed and adjusted based on performance, growth of RAD West, and overall company results at 90 days, 1 year, and periodically thereafter.
· Housing:
o On-site housing in Naples, FL at a reduced rental rate, in connection with specific property care responsibilities (to be outlined in a separate housing agreement, if applicable. Proposed at $1,000/mo with electrical, internet/cable, security included)
· Incentive Programs:
o Performance-based incentives tied to KPI’s related the growth and profitability of the West Coast operation.
o Additional eligibility for incentives and commissions consistent with RAD’s Aquarium Service Technician program on serviced accounts, which includes:
o A percentage of livestock, dry goods, installations, refurbishments, earned new service accounts & customs installations based on sales margins on accounts and projects directly managed by RAD West (details to be provided in a separate incentive plan document).

Physical, mental, and environmental factors:
· Frequent bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, fast-paced walking, and hands-on mechanical work.
· Work is performed across multiple environments: residential home, warehouse/metal building, client locations, and outdoors on a 5-acre property in Southwest Florida.
· Occasional coverage for service, installation, or aquaculture tasks as secondary support.
· Occasional weekend or holiday responsibilities based on operational needs.
· Minimum 45-hour workweek expected for salaried personnel.
