Position Title: Finance Manager
Reports To: Co-Minister Rev. Hannah Roberts Villnave
Anticipated Hiring Range: $58,600 - $62,000 annually, depending on experience
UUA Compensation Grade: Manager
Anticipated Start Date: 3/16/2026
Summary: The Finance Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Fellowship’s financial recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance. This role ensures accurate accounting, timely payroll and tax reporting, strong financial controls, and clear communication of financial information to Executives, the Fellowship Governing Board, and the Unitarian Universalist Association. The position also works proactively to improve financial systems and processes.
Time: This role is a full-time (1.0 FTE) salaried exempt position. Occasional evening or weekend meetings may be required.

Financial Management & Accounting
- Manage all accounting functions, including contributions and pledges, accounts payable, payroll, financial reporting, and bank balances and activity.
- Serve as a primary resource for reporting on the financial status of the Fellowship, its programs, and fundraising activities.
- Supervise any bookkeeping staff or volunteers; support generosity team volunteers.
- Analyze financial trends and provide insights and reports as requested or as helpful for planning and decision-making.
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverages for facility, board, staff and organization.
Budgeting & Reporting
- Collaborate with executives and staff to develop, monitor, and manage the annual budget.
- Prepare and provide financial reports to Executives, the Fellowship Governing Board, and the Unitarian Universalist Association, as required.
- Support audit and review processes by providing information to the Audit Team for quarterly reviews and other requests.
Payroll, Compliance & Records
- Manage payroll and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate and compliant personnel and benefits records.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, deposits, and required financial reporting.
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage for facilities, Board, staff, and the organization.
Financial Systems
- Review current financial systems and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement and stronger controls.
- Assist with maintenance and support of technology and communications systems as related to financial operations.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in financial management and accounting. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite required. Meaningful experience with CRM and/or database systems preferred. Ability to become an expert user in specialized church software systems (PowerChurch, Empower, etc).
- Education: Associate’s degree in accounting or related field required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
