Architectural Design Manager – Residential Remodeling

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 (DOE)
B & B Design Build is a well-established residential design–build firm with over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality remodels across the Denver metro area. Our work is practical, detailed, and designed to be built.
We are hiring an Architectural Design Manager to manage the residential design function and directly manage the designers supporting our remodeling projects. This is a hands-on role focused on execution, coordination, quality control, and people management.
What You’ll Do
- Manage residential design projects from site measure through finalized construction documents
- Directly manage and oversee designers, including workload planning, priorities, and drawing quality
- Review and approve construction-ready drawings before production handoff
- Maintain consistency in design standards, details, and documentation
- Coordinate design schedules and deadlines across multiple active projects
- Work closely with project managers and construction teams to resolve design issues
- Meet with homeowners to review plans, selections, and scope details
- Ensure plans comply with residential building codes and permitting requirements
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of residential remodeling design experience
- Proven ability to produce and review construction-ready residential drawings
- Experience managing or supervising designers preferred
- Advanced proficiency with CAD software
- Strong understanding of residential building codes and permitting processes
- Clear, practical communication style with homeowners and internal teams
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects and people
