Job Summary: The Financial Analyst will support the evaluation and management of our real estate portfolio by analyzing financial performance, assisting with investment decisions, and delivering insights that inform strategic planning. This role is well-suited for someone who is analytical, curious, and eager to develop expertise in real estate finance, financial modeling, and market analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Financial Modeling and Analysis:
- Build and maintain financial models to support investment evaluations and assess property performance.
- Assist with scenario, sensitivity, and valuation analyses, including discounted cash flow (DCF) modeling and other analytical approaches.
- Conduct research to evaluate and update assumptions based on market conditions.
B. Investment Support:
- Contribute to due diligence efforts for potential investments through financial analysis, market research, and risk assessment.
- Help prepare investment memorandums, feasibility analyses, and presentation materials for internal teams and stakeholders.
C. Portfolio Analysis:
- Track and analyze the financial performance of the real estate portfolio, including income, expenses, and capital investments.
- Support the creation of recurring financial reports and performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Compile and analyze data from property management teams as it relates to operations, such as occupancy, delinquency, lease trade outs, etc.
D. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist with annual budgeting and financial forecasting for individual properties and the overall portfolio.
- Monitor budget variances and help identify drivers behind performance differences.
E. Market Research:
- Research real estate market trends, competitive dynamics, and economic indicators.
- Summarize findings to help inform investment and portfolio strategies.
F. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with asset management, development, and finance teams on cross-functional initiatives.
- Prepare clear, well-organized financial analyses and reports for management and other stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: Knowledge and involvement in financial analysis, preferably within the real estate or real estate development industry.
*Strong interest in financial analysis, real estate, and investment evaluation.
*Ability to build and interpret financial models and analyze quantitative data.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial or real estate software (e.g., Argus, CoStar) is a
plus.
*Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to varied
audiences.
*Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
*Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
