We are seeking an Automation Engineering Section Supervisor to join a client in Fort Worth. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The role is 100% onsite.
The Automation Engineering Section Supervisor is responsible for lead and bring up automation engineering engineers for the automation project introduction, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting management for automation equipment and automated systems used in electronics manufacturing. This position ensures maximum uptime, reliability, and performance both of team and machinery to meet production and quality objectives, while driving customer collaboration and introducing cutting-edge technologies to the manufacturing process. Automation Engineering Section Supervisor collaborates closely with manufacturing teams cross to manufacturing engineering, operation, and quality teams to support continuous improvement and safe, efficient operations.
- Plan technical implementation resources and timelines, manage data conversion activities, and oversee deployment and installation of automation solutions.
- Provide training, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Support team capability development to meet customer requirements in process knowledge, technical skills, and soft skills.
- Lead resource and capacity planning to ensure successful project delivery.
- Partner with management to execute strategic plans, drive improvement initiatives, and re-engineer processes as needed.
- Coordinate with Automation HC, WUS IE teams, and vendors for automation equipment installation, relocation, commissioning, and setup of new production lines.
- Participate in integration of automation systems, including robotics, vision inspection, and related equipment.
- Lead calibration of automated systems to ensure readiness for production handoff.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for all automation equipment.
- Lead RCCA activities to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment failures.
- Support engineering investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineers to enhance equipment reliability, throughput, and overall performance.
- Support production line modifications, tooling updates, and process optimizations.
- Implement maintenance best practices to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Execute RCCA using PDCA methodology, including error‑proofing solutions.
- Follow all OSHA, EHS, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of tools, parts, and automation equipment.
- Participate in equipment safety audits and ensure completion of corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automated system implementation, vendor management, and equipment maintenance, preferably in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or automated production environments.
- Experience implementing automated equipment and familiarity with mainstream automation technologies.
- Strong engineering management capabilities, including project planning and execution.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Proficient in troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, motors, conveyors, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with robotics, machine vision systems, and automation equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical CAD drawings.
- Experience with automation machine design using 2D/3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, and AutoCAD.
