Associated Credit Union of Texas is proud to be recognized again as a 2025 Top Workplace! We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Controller to lead the accounting operations of our growing organization.
This is more than a traditional accounting role — it’s an opportunity to influence strategy, strengthen financial integrity, and partner closely with executive leadership to drive sound decision-making across the credit union.
What You’ll Do
As Controller, you will oversee the accounting operations of the credit union and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will:
Lead and develop the accounting and finance team
Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure compliance with GAAP and federal/state credit union regulations
Certify and oversee quarterly Call Reports
Partner with auditors and examiners during annual reviews
Assist with ALM reviews, CECL processes, liquidity management, and investment oversight
Support budgeting, board reporting, and ALCO reporting
Oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Monitor profitability reporting, including indirect lending and branch/product performance
Serve as backup for managing the investment portfolio
This role requires strong leadership, executive-level communication skills, and the ability to influence outcomes through collaboration across departments.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Credentials
Experience
5–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
Prior leadership experience overseeing accounting teams
Experience within financial institutions or credit unions preferred
Core Competencies

Education/ Certifications/ Licenses
A college degree. A CPA or MBA is preferred.
Experience
Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
Interpersonal Skills
The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a
significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently
complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the
position.
