Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Surface Design Specialist / Pattern and Print Curator to join our creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and curating unique surface patterns and prints that elevate our product offerings. Responsibilities
- Develop original surface patterns and prints using industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and CAD tools.
- Curate a diverse library of prints and patterns by sourcing inspiration from fashion retail trends, art movements, theater design, and cultural influences.
- Collaborate closely with product development teams to translate design concepts into production-ready artwork that aligns with the product lifecycle management process.
- Assist in selecting color palettes based on color theory principles to ensure visual harmony across collections.
- Work alongside fashion designers and merchandisers to incorporate surface designs into garment prototypes and final products, considering garment construction techniques.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in fashion styling, graphic design, and textile innovation to keep our collections fresh and relevant.
- Support the technical aspects of pattern creation, including sewing techniques and garment construction details, ensuring designs are feasible for manufacturing.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fashion design or surface pattern creation with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in print design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD software, and other relevant design tools.
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management processes within the fashion industry.
- Familiarity with garment construction, sewing machines, and textile manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of color theory, graphic design principles, and illustration techniques.
- Ability to interpret fashion retail trends and translate them into compelling print designs.
- Experience working with merchandising teams to ensure designs meet market needs and brand standards.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments including fashion styling and theater-inspired design elements.
