PORTFOLIO ANALYST

The Fixed Income team manages $2B in tax-exempt and taxable fixed income for high net worth and institutional clients. The role is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to be involved in all aspects of the fixed income portfolio management process.
The right candidate will have analytical skills, great communication skills, a fierce attention to detail, and the ability to work on complex Excel-based projects. Ideally, this person will have a keen interest in using technology to enhance the team’s processes. As part of the Fixed Income team, you will be challenged and stretched as you help drive the organization forward. You will report to a senior Portfolio Manager and will work to support our entire Fixed Income team.
The ideal candidate should have 1-3 years of experience in the financial services industry and be registered (7, 63, 52) or have relevant internship experience and be willing to get registered immediately. The candidate should also have strong technology skills including using a PMS, a CRM, Bloomberg, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel. While experience in asset management or wealth management will give you a leg up, it is not mandatory. On a daily basis, you will be reviewing accounts, interfacing with internal stakeholders and actively following the financial markets.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Portfolio management:
o Constantly review portfolios on an account-by-account basis to ensure that all investment parameters are set up properly and all necessary revisions to client portfolios have been made.
o Manage day-to-day cash flows, analyze the impact on accounts and provide actionable advice to the PMs when special situations arise (e.g. rebalancing for gifts, account splits, material withdrawals/inflows, etc.).
o Submit trade tickets and confirm trade activity.
o Prepare presentation materials to be shared with clients during periodic meetings to review accounts.
o Assist with pulling together commentary and data for our team’s weekly, annual and ad-hoc marketing collateral.
· Research:
o Research and analyze current data and materials on existing positions (rating upgrades/ downgrades, incorrect data, missing data etc.) and potential new ideas to ensure client portfolios are properly positioned.
o Run risk reports to help PMs ensure portfolios are in-line with their investment parameters and client requested restrictions.
o Work with our technology team to create new reports to help PMs more efficiently manage client portfolios.
· Operational support:
o Interfacing regularly with the Shared Services teams (Trading, Client Service, Operations and Compliance).
o Familiarity with all aspects of client administration (setting up new accounts, allocation of trades, processing team requests) is important in this role.
o Perform general troubleshooting. Address a plethora of one-off issues related to, among other things, performance discrepancies, errors, cost basis variances, issues with domestic and foreign custodian banks, etc.

JOB TYPE:
Full-time, 40 hours per week with overtime as needed
Compensation will be competitive. The salary range is $90 - $105k. There will be a discretionary year-end bonus offered as well.
