Role Description
This role is designed for someone who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, quantitatively strong, and excited to work in a fast-paced environment with high volume exposure to end-to-end transaction execution. This is a full-time, on-site position in San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting research and due diligence to develop a strong understanding of technology companies, sub-verticals, and markets
- Collecting, reviewing, and analyzing company, industry, and market data
- Developing a wide range of financial analyses and models used in mergers, acquisitions, and capital raise transactions
- Building operating and valuation models, including DCF, comparable company, precedent M&A, LBO, regression, and synergy analyses
- Preparing operating models and KPI analyses, including metrics such as retention, LTV, and CAC
- Building waterfall / funds flow models
- Preparing materials used in transaction processes, including investment memoranda, executive summaries, management presentations, data books, pitchbooks, CIMs, and other marketing materials
- Supporting creation of data books that include historical financials, operating models, KPI calculations, cap tables, and other supporting analyses
- Building and managing virtual data rooms
- Processing NDAs
- Coordinating with clients and prospective clients to gather due diligence materials
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and/or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience
- 0–2 years of experience in a finance or business role, particularly one with a strong quantitative focus (3.5 GPA or higher required for applicants without work experience)
- Strong financial modeling skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to organize and track overlapping tasks and assignments while priorities shift frequently
