Position Overview
Ferrosource is seeking an Finance & Accounting Analyst to join our team in New York City, with a primary focus on accounts receivable, audit support, and financial reporting. This role involves working with high volumes of transactional data, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, and ensuring accuracy across customer accounts and internal reporting.
This position is fully in-office (5 days per week).
Key Responsibilities
• Process and apply accounts receivable payments, including wires, ACH, and checks
• Monitor and review A/R aging and follow up on outstanding balances
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, short pays, and unapplied cash
• Assist with customer account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of receivable balances
• Support audit requests by gathering invoices, shipping documentation, and supporting schedules
• Assist with internal reporting, including compiling and reviewing transactional data
• Help ensure transactions are accurately recorded and aligned with underlying operational activity
• Assist with month-end close activities related to A/R and reporting
• Maintain organized documentation for customer invoices, payments, and supporting records
• Communicate with customers, operations teams, and internal stakeholders regarding discrepancies and open items
• Assist with ad-hoc reporting as needed
Qualifications Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or near completion)
• 1-3 years previous experience in accounts receivable, audit, cost accounting, or general accounting
• Exposure to financial reporting or reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high-volume transactional data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work full-time in an in-office environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred (Not Required)
• Exposure to supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or inventory-based businesses
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems
