Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mortgage Loan Underwriter located in St. Augustine, FL and Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. The Mortgage Loan Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating loan applications in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines, analyzing the creditworthiness of borrowers, and ensuring compliance with underwriting standards. Day-to-day tasks include assessing financial documents, communicating lending decisions with relevant parties, and working closely with the loan processing team to complete transactions efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications
- 0–3 years of experience
- Proficiency in mortgage industry practices, including mortgages and mortgage underwriting
- Strong underwriting skills with a focus on compliance and accuracy
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating financial data and decision-making
- Strong attention to detail and familiarity with regulatory guidelines
- Experience with financial and lending software systems is preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including data analysis, formulas, and financial modeling
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $42,000 – $51,000 per year
