Outside Vendor Sewing Supervisor
This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the out of house sewing contractors. This role is critical to ensure CDS is sending the highest quality garments and products to our clients, while delivering on time. A general knowledge of sewn goods production and basic computer skills, communication are key to succeeding in this role.
The key performing indicators are:
- Lead and motivate the team by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and ensuring accountability
- Ensures quality and due dates are met
- Oversees contractor sewing schedule and keeps it updated
- Ensures processes are followed to adhere to strict quality standards
- Assists in being sure order is properly prepared and ready for contractor pickup
- Communicates with contractor on pickup and drop off times
- Communicates with sewing contractors on weekly and monthly plans
- Managing contractor relationships
The day to day duties will include:
- Arrange for repairs to happen within 24 hours
- Ensures garments are sewn accurately
- Coordinates labor
- Updates the Master Production Schedule
- Ensures orders are on track for on time delivery
Experience:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse setting
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and sewing techniques preferred but not required
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions
