Company Description
Six+One is a branding and advertising agency based in Hudson Square, NYC. We’re small but mighty, rooted in the belief that creativity can, and should, disrupt for good. Our ethos is simple: reinvent brands, redefine categories, and reshape culture. We lead with excellence, create with thoughtfulness, and connect with generosity.
Our clients range from national brands like Spectrum, to disruptors like Jovē, to bold startups like LYX. Beyond our client work, we run For The Greater Hood, our non-profit that reimagines how we serve the homeless community by creating dignity-driven pop-up boutiques.
Role Description
Are you a junior designer with senior-level talent? Or at least a junior designer who enjoys genius-level wordplay like in that last sentence? (You should, it’s a preview of the creative chaos you’ll be joining.)
At Six+One, we’re building brands from scratch, reshaping categories, and occasionally making things so fun they shouldn’t count as work. If you’re allergic to fun, congratulations on the self-awareness, but this isn’t for you. If you do love culture, craft, and the thrill of making things people actually notice, read on.
This is a full-time, hybrid role where you’ll collaborate with art directors, writers, and strategists to bring ideas to life across print, digital, social, and sometimes the gloriously unexpected. Some days it’s pixel-perfect typography; other days it’s transforming a half-baked idea into a thumb-stopping design moment.
We’re in the Hudson Square office Tuesday–Thursday and every other Monday (WFH Fridays). A portfolio that shows off both your design chops and your personality is required.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign required).
- Solid understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
- Familiarity with UX/UI and web design is a plus.
- Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects.
- Bonus points for video production and animation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred.
Why You’ll Love It Here
- You’ll work on everything from global names to scrappy startups.
- You’ll flex your creativity while learning how to build brands that disrupt industries.
- You’ll join a team that actually cares about the work, each other, and the impact we make beyond the boardroom.
- And maybe most importantly: you’ll be part of an independent agency where your voice matters, your work gets noticed, and your passion has room to shape culture.
