Manufacturing Engineer
Overview:
Our client, a precision machining company in the Sarasota area, is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support ongoing growth in a high-volume job shop setting. This position bridges design and production — taking engineered concepts or customer drawings, developing the most efficient manufacturing approach, and working alongside machinists to bring complex parts to life. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems in real time, programming, and optimizing processes for both repeat and new custom parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret technical drawings and create machining programs and process plans for production.
- Take ownership of setting up and running new customer parts to ensure accuracy and repeatability. Once validated, hand off to machinists and provide follow-up support.
- Collaborate with machinists to refine and finalize production methods.
- Work with a wide range of materials: stainless steel, aluminum, copper, Inconel, cobalt, and other alloys.
- Diagnose and resolve issues such as dimensional shifts or heat-treatment shrinkage.
- Support both new, one-off prototype projects and reproduction of existing parts within a high-volume workflow.
- Serve as a technical leader and example of professionalism and precision on the shop floor.
Requirements:
- Experience with 5-Axis Machining Centers is required.
- Must have strong programming skills and be confident in developing machining solutions.
- Hands-on, practical approach — this is not a desk-only role.
- Deep understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
- Education is flexible: a technical degree or equivalent experience is acceptable.

- $100,000–$150,000+ annually, plus performance-based bonus (DOE).
