Piper Maddox is partnering with a major bank with a well-established natural gas trading desk and a growing power trading desk. We are seeking a Trading Analyst to join their growing team in New York City. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to break into the energy trading space!
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience in natural gas and/or power markets
- Strong understanding of one or more programming languages, with a high level of proficiency in Python preferred
- Undergraduate degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Interest in breaking into the energy trading space
Responsibilities:
- Support the trading staff across several commodities, particularly on the Power and Gas side
- Support desk operations, including end-of-day, end-of-month, and end-of-year processes, and help automate these processes using Python and VBA
- Utilize various programming languages to develop trading strategies, automate processes, and perform analysis
- Build and maintain client relationships related to permitted products and structures
