Republic Investment Company is a commercial real estate-specialized family office founded in 1983, managing an active portfolio of over 25 properties, including hotels, offices, multifamily, and land. We specialize in value-add and distressed investments across major U.S. markets, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional returns by doubling principal investments within two to three years.
We are expanding our New York office and seeking a motivated Associate to join our team. This role will serve as a key support to the Vice President of Operations, contributing to the oversight, optimization and growth of our diverse real estate portfolio while gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in asset management for our portfolio of commercial properties, including conducting property and site visits to assess conditions, performance, and opportunities for value enhancement.
- Participate in design and development meetings, providing input on repositioning strategies for value-add and distressed assets.
- Support project management initiatives, such as coordinating renovations, timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships.
- Oversee communications with internal teams, external stakeholders (e.g., property managers, vendors, partners, etc.), and ensure timely follow-up on operational matters.
- Handle ad hoc tasks as needed, including financial analysis, due diligence on potential investments, and reporting on asset performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in real estate, business administration, finance, or a related field required.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in real estate, asset management, operations, or a similar role (entry-level candidates with strong internships or related exposure encouraged to apply).
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and recommend actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-starter mindset with a proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, adaptable environment.
- Willingness to commit to in-person work in our New York City office, and to travel as needed.
