Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Traffic Control Plan Designer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive traffic control plans that ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance across various construction and infrastructure projects. Your expertise will help facilitate smooth traffic management operations by designing clear, precise, and effective plans that align with project specifications and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Design & Drafting: Develop temporary traffic control plans (TCPs) using CAD software (Rapid Plan), incorporating signs, cones, barricades, and flagger placements for safe vehicle/pedestrian flow.
- Permitting: Coordinate with public agencies (City, County, ADOT) to get plans approved and secure necessary permits for road closures.
- Coordination: Communicate with contractors, construction crews, dispatch, police, and fire departments for project execution and emergency response.
- Compliance: Ensure designs meet standards from the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and local policies.
- Site Monitoring: Observe traffic conditions and update plans as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Software: Proficiency in CAD (Rapid Plan) is crucial for plan creation.
- Knowledge: Understanding of traffic engineering principles, MUTCD, Arizona regulations, and construction site safety.
- Experience: Background in traffic control, construction, or civil engineering.
- Certifications: ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
