Title: Marketing and Development Associate (FT)

Location: New York, NY (On-Site, 5 days a week in office)

Position Summary
The Marketing & Development Associate plays a key role in strengthening relationships with alumni, donors, and supporters through thoughtful outreach, compelling storytelling, and consistent donor communications.
This role blends marketing, communications, and fundraising support, with a particular focus on alumni engagement and donor updates. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer, highly organized, relationship-oriented, and excited to grow a career in nonprofit development and communications.
Responsibilities
Alumni Outreach & Engagement
- Support efforts to identify, track, and engage alumni through outreach campaigns, surveys, and one-on-one communications via email, phone, text or other effective communication tools
- Maintain and update alumni records, contact information, and engagement notes in the database
- Collect alumni updates, milestones, and success stories for use in donor communications, reports, and marketing materials
- Assist with planning and promotion of alumni events, gatherings, and virtual engagement opportunities
Development & Donor Communications
- Draft donor updates, newsletters, impact summaries, and fundraising appeals in collaboration with senior staff
- Support cultivation efforts by preparing donor acknowledgments, updates, and periodic impact reports
- Assist with tracking donations, pledges, and donor engagement activities
- Help prepare materials for donor meetings, presentations, and fundraising campaigns
Marketing & Communications
- Contribute to content creation for email campaigns, website updates, and social media, with a focus on alumni and donor impact
- Gather stories, quotes, and data to help communicate program outcomes and organizational impact
- Support brand-aligned messaging across development and alumni communications
Administrative & Project Support
- Maintain organized records and timelines for outreach campaigns and communications
- Coordinate with program staff to gather accurate data and updates for donor and alumni communications
- Support special projects and events related to fundraising, marketing, programs, and alumni relations
- Assist with tracking the progress of assignments to volunteers and seasonal support
- Ensure Foundation profiles and listings are updated on socials, websites, and other distribution channels
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Detail-oriented and strong writing and organizational skills
- Familiarity and proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, digital tools and social platforms
- Interest in educational equity and long-term student success
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, mission-driven mindset
- Ability to travel and work on weekends and late evenings, when required
- Strong ability to track multiple projects, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment

The Expected Compensation For This Position Is
$66,300.00 USD - $72,000.00 USD
- Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
