Manufacturing Business Analyst – Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 F&O)

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Manufacturing Business Analyst to help shape, enhance, and optimize manufacturing processes within our global Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) environment. This role partners closely with Manufacturing Solution Architects, operational leaders, and technical teams to define requirements, refine processes, and support ERP and MES initiatives across a diverse, multi‑system landscape.
The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience with manufacturing operations and ERP platforms and thrives in organizations undergoing large‑scale digital transformation.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Process Analysis
- Gather, interpret, and validate business requirements across core manufacturing functions, such as:
- Forecasting, MRP, and production planning
- Shop floor execution and work order management
- Inventory control and warehouse workflows
- Lead workshops with manufacturing teams to document current‑state processes and design improved future‑state workflows.
- Produce clear, well‑structured documentation including:
- Current/future‑state process maps
- Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- User stories and acceptance criteria
ERP Support (D365 F&O)
- Contribute to fit/gap assessments and support functional design decisions.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications that align with D365 capabilities.
- Validate system configurations and ensure they reflect operational needs.
- Support data migration efforts involving BOMs, routings, work centers, and inventory.
ERP + MES Integration
- Help define how D365 interacts with MES solutions across production and quality workflows.
- Document integration points including:
- Production order lifecycle
- Shop floor data capture
- Inventory traceability and movement
- Partner with technical teams to ensure integration requirements are clearly communicated and well understood.
Testing & Deployment
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts by developing test scenarios, scripts, and validation checkpoints.
- Support defect resolution, triage discussions, and end‑to‑end process testing.
- Assist in cutover planning, readiness preparation, and go‑live execution.
Change Management & Training
- Build and deliver training materials for manufacturing end users.
- Serve as a bridge between operations and IT during implementation and stabilization phases.
- Promote consistency and adoption of standardized processes across multiple sites.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience within manufacturing or ERP environments.
- Practical experience with major ERP systems (D365 preferred; AX, SAP, Oracle, or similar acceptable).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, including:
- Production orders and shop floor execution
- BOMs and routings
- Inventory and warehouse processes
- Demonstrated ability to gather and document requirements with precision and clarity.
- Proven experience collaborating effectively across cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting D365 F&O manufacturing modules.
- Familiarity with MES platforms and shop floor integrations.
- Background in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., life sciences, medical device).
- Experience with tools such as:
- Azure DevOps (user stories, backlog management)
- Visio or Lucidchart (process modeling)
- Power BI (reporting/analytics)
- Experience supporting global or multi‑site ERP rollouts.
