Job Description
Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist needed to support civil construction projects.
Duties include assisting with the preparation, review, and interpretation of construction
drawings and site plans; collecting field data and performing site measurements; assisting
with construction layout and grading activities; monitoring construction activities for
compliance with project plans and safety standards; preparing technical reports and
construction documentation; assisting with quantity take-oAs and material tracking; and
coordinating with engineers, project managers, and construction personnel to support daily
construction operations.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in civil construction support, construction
field operations, or engineering technician/technologist duties

Duties:
The Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist supports civil construction and
infrastructure projects by performing technical tasks that assist civil engineers and project
teams. Specific responsibilities include:
Reading and reviewing project blueprints, structural specifications, and
construction plans to determine dimensions, materials, and project requirements.
Calculating dimensions, square footage, profiles, component specifications, and
material quantities using basic engineering principles and appropriate tools or
software.
Drafting and preparing detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts to assist
with project planning and technical conformity.
Analyzing site factors, design maps, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate findings and
support engineering decisions.
Inspecting project sites and evaluating contractor work to detect discrepancies,
design malfunctions, or non-conformance with specifications and applicable
codes.
Conducting field surveys and collecting data related to site conditions, layout, and
construction activities; reporting results to supervising engineers or management.
Preparing project reports, technical documentation, and logs to record construction
progress, field observations, test results, and related data.
Conducting materials testing and analysis using standard field or laboratory tools to
verify compliance with design specifications.
Supporting the development of cost estimates, plans, and budgets for installation of
systems, materials, or construction components.
Communicating with supervisors, engineers, and construction personnel to
coordinate technical tasks, clarify project details, and resolve field conditions or
conflicts.
Special Skills
