Overview
We are seeking a business-minded, organized Associate M&A Advisor / Business Broker to support our Senior Broker in helping business owners sell their companies and qualified buyers evaluate acquisition opportunities.
This role combines client communication, financial review, CRM management, research, and transaction coordination. It is well suited to an experienced professional who wants a part-time role with compensation tied to completed transactions.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Broker throughout the transaction process, from initial qualification and business evaluation through due diligence and closing.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including contacts, deal stages, communication history, follow-up tasks, and deadlines.
- Communicate professionally with business owners, buyers, lenders, accountants, and attorneys under the Senior Broker’s direction.
- Review and organize financial statements, tax returns, and supporting business records; identify missing information and questions requiring clarification.
- Assist with preliminary business analysis, including revenue trends, profitability, cash flow, owner compensation, and potential financial adjustments.
- Help prepare business summaries, confidential marketing materials, buyer profiles, and presentations.
- Research industries, prospective buyers, comparable businesses, and market conditions.
- Coordinate confidentiality agreements, document requests, meetings, data rooms, and due diligence checklists.
- Track outstanding items and follow through consistently to keep transactions moving.
- Protect confidential client and transaction information.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in business brokerage, M&A, commercial banking, accounting, finance, business ownership, consulting, or a comparable business role.
- Practical experience using a CRM to manage relationships, opportunities, and follow-up activity.
- Ability to read income statements and balance sheets and understand cash flow, margins, EBITDA, and seller’s discretionary earnings.
- Strong business judgment and an understanding of how privately held companies operate.
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets and common document and collaboration tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail, and dependable follow-through.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with the Senior Broker.
- Residence in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or New Mexico, with availability for scheduled business-hour calls and transaction deadlines.
Direct experience supporting business sales, acquisitions, valuations, SBA financing, or transaction due diligence is preferred. Relevant professional credentials are welcome.
Schedule and compensation
This is a part-time, commission-only opportunity with no base salary or hourly wage. Commission participation, transaction attribution, and payment timing will be established in a written agreement before work begins. Earnings are contingent on completed transactions and applicable fee collection; income and closing timelines are not guaranteed.
Weekly availability and working arrangements will be agreed upon before engagement.
