DC Power Project Manager/Engineer Job Description:
The main goal of project manager/engineer is to create value-added service and support to all PWR, LLC EF&I and projects and customers.
The following list contains the detailed responsibilities of this position:
Design and Engineering of EF&I and E&I projects. Engineering involves the following:
A. Identify customer needs and specifications. Aid in developing specifications to create an engineering package.
B. Ongoing consulting and design to develop customer floor plans and ladder rack schemes.
C. Creating detailed project manuals which include contact name and numbers, site logistics, part lists, detailed method of procedures floor plans, wiring diagrams, ladder rack drawings, and monitoring and control drawings.
D. Detailed Method of Procedures outlining in detailed step by step method of installation
E. Detailed floor plans outlining Equipment location
F. Detailed cable ladder rack drawings outlining cable rack and support structure.
G. Wiring diagrams illustrating cabling and grounding installation design.
H. Alarm and Control wiring diagrams showing equipment integration.
Ongoing day to day project management and engineering of ongoing projects which includes
A. Creating RFQ’s to sub-contractor’s when needed to complete installation
B. Contact customers and building contacts to establish communication and project start date
C. Track equipment and make delivery adjustments
D. Specify certificates of insurance
E. Aid in setting up delivery of equipment, misc. materials, and tools.
F. Schedule personnel
G. Tracking installation process via updates from installation personnel
H. Updating customers on installation process and making necessary adjustments to fit their schedules.
I. Aid installers in interpreting Method of Procedures, manufacture’s specifications, and engineered drawings.
J. Aid installers in field project engineering-making design and installation changes to overcome site specific problems.
K. Visit project before, during, and after installation to create engineering packages, create efficient and profitable installation, and verify installation complete per specifications.
L. Train operations personnel on DC Power Equipment operation.
M. Supervise and complete as needed hot work when inexperience lead installer is completing project.
N. Troubleshoot as needed equipment under initial start up
Installation Completion Paperwork and adjustments for future.
A. Evaluate as per built documents- identify any problems overlooked by lead installer
B. Send complete as per documentation, drawings, and concerns for the future to customers
C. Discuss changes for future with salesperson, management, and installers
D. Review project profitability and identify weaknesses.
E. Create solutions to weaknesses.
Train new personnel and existing personnel
A. Train new personnel on installation procedures, specifications, equipment startup/troubleshooting, and field project management.
B. Train existing personnel on new equipment and advances in the industry.
Specifying Equipment for EF&I Projects
A. Work hand in hand with customer directly or with salesman to specify the correct dc power equipment size, manufacture, and type.
B. Quote equipment, materials, labor, expenses, freight, sub-contracting, and engineering.
C. Review and approve all engineering packages
Pay: From $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
